Biography
In addition to being Doctoral Faculty in Clinical Psychology, Marti Kranzberg has been in private practice for nearly 30 years, working with group therapy, drug and alcohol treatment and residents of nursing homes. She has served as President of Dallas Group Psychotherapy Society (DGPS), Board Member of American Group Psychotherapy Association, and Chair of DGPA Training Committee. Her great love has been psychotherapy and she is grateful for the opportunity to train clinicians in the art & science of psychotherapy.
Her current interest is integrating Dan Siegel’s interpersonal neurobiology with her experience with humanistic/systems psychotherapy.

Three Generations of Lesbians: Clinical Implications and Placement in Group
Group: The Journal of the Eastern Psychotherapy Society(September, 2009) The lives of lesbians have been profoundly impacted by the social and political climate in which they lived. In this article, three generations of lesbian women are portrayed, highlighting variations in gender identity, intimate relationships, and connections with family-of-origin as relevant issues for clinicians. Suggestions for placement in therapy groups are made and limitations in the use of these profiles are described.
My life in six groups
Group: The Journal of the Eastern Psychotherapy Society(2008) I have always been fascinated with groups. I cannot remember when I was not intrigued by their potential for sustenance and nurture but also for their destructive capacities, small and large. As a child growing up in the suburban Midwest, I experienced the joy and excitement of best friends and the sheer physical exhilaration and camaraderie of playing team sports.
