Biography
Linda Robinson is the Chief Executive of Age NI, the largest older peoples’ charity in Northern Ireland, she has over 27 years experience delivering best practice services for older people. Her recent Msc in Inter professional Health & Social Care focused on the opportunities and challenges arising from carers assessments.
Age NI delivers a vital range of services for older people and their families including advice and care. It also supports local groups with the aim of strengthening the voice of older people in their communities.
Longer life is something to be celebrated. Indeed, many older people report that they lead vibrant, fulfilling, dignified, independent and engaged lives. However, we also know that for many older people later life can be a challenge.
Linda will outline the current review of Health & Social Care and in particular the strategy “Transforming Your Care” and she will also look at key areas of service aimed at supporting older people including residential and nursing care and care at home both of which are aimed at making life better for all.
At the heart of the Age NI vision of social care is a system that enhances wellbeing and independence so that older people continue to engage socially and maintain self esteem and dignity.

New Irish News campaign aimed at encouraging people to be more neighbourly to begin next week
